2. Porsche Taycan (Max Charge Rate: 270kW, with 350kW potential via updates)

The Porsche Taycan was one of the first production EVs to support 800V architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging. While its peak is officially 270kW, Porsche has hinted at future software updates unlocking higher speeds.

3. Audi e-tron GT & RS e-tron GT (Max Charge Rate: 270kW)

Sharing the same platform as the Taycan, the Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT support 270kW charging, allowing a 5% to 80% charge in about 22 minutes.

4. Hyundai IONIQ 5 (Max Charge Rate: 235kW, but benefits from 350kW stations)

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 uses an 800V system, allowing it to charge at 235kW under optimal conditions. While not hitting the full 350kW, it still gains 70 miles of range in just 5 minutes at high-power chargers.

5. Kia EV6 (Max Charge Rate: 235kW, similar to IONIQ 5)

Like its Hyundai cousin, the Kia EV6 supports 235kW charging, taking advantage of 350kW stations to achieve a 10-80% charge in under 18 minutes.

Tesla’s Cybertruck is the brand’s first vehicle confirmed to support 350kW+ charging via V4 Superchargers, though real-world performance is still being tested.

7. GMC Hummer EV (Max Charge Rate: 350kW)

The GMC Hummer EV is one of the few trucks capable of 350kW charging, thanks to its 800V architecture. GM claims 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes under optimal conditions.

Rivian’s R1T pickup and R1S SUV currently peak at 220kW, but their 800V battery systems suggest potential for higher charging rates with future updates.

9. BMW i4 & iX (Max Charge Rate: 200-250kW, depending on model)

While not quite hitting 350kW, the BMW i4 M50 and iX xDrive50 can charge at 200-250kW, allowing for 10-80% in about 30 minutes at high-power stations.

10. Upcoming EVs: Porsche Macan EV, Cadillac Lyriq, and More

Several upcoming EVs, including the Porsche Macan EV (350kW+) and Cadillac Lyriq (190kW, with higher potential in future models), are expected to push ultra-fast charging further.

The Future of Ultra-Fast Charging

As 800V architectures become more common, more EVs will unlock 350kW+ charging speeds, reducing charging stops to under 15 minutes for most long trips. Companies like Tesla, Lucid, and Porsche are leading the charge, but legacy automakers are quickly catching up.
